Location: Spintex, Accra, Ghana
Reporting to: General Manager

Job Summary

The Warehouse Manager will oversee the efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of a range of goods. Responsible for a vital part of the supply chain process, you’ll manage people, processes and systems in order to ensure goods are received and dispatched appropriately, and that productivity targets are met. You’ll also be responsible for workplace health and safety standards and for the security of the building and stock. The Warehouse Manager is responsible for a complete range of warehouse activities, including timely and accurate servicing of customer orders, shipping, receiving, inventory management and the coordination of tasks. Also responsible for providing supervision and training/development of warehouse staff. Promotes safe, effective and logical work habits and upholds safety as a priority.


• Maintain optimal inventory of warehouse supplies
• Manage material handling at warehouse including lifting
• Manage Inventory Control and Audits
• liaise with customers, suppliers and transport companies
• coordinate and monitor the receipt, order, assembly and dispatch of goods
• use space and mechanical handling equipment efficiently, making sure quality, budgetary targets and environmental objectives are met
• manage company inventory, ensuring accuracy in receiving, pulling, shipping and invoicing orders, and minimising product damage and theft at the same time
• have a clear understanding of the company’s policies and vision and how the warehouse contributes to these
• coordinate the use of automated and computerised systems where necessary
• respond to and deal with customer communication by email and telephone
• keep stock control systems up to date and make sure inventories are accurate
• plan future capacity requirements
• motivate, organise and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded
• produce regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
• Supervise, coach and train warehouse employees
• brief team leaders on a daily basis
• maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment, for example, ensuring that stock such as chemicals and food are stored safely
• Make room for new items and be sure that discontinued items are cleared out properly
• Responsible for the cleanliness and organisation of products in the warehouse
• Ensure that the staff who operate equipment are properly trained
• Oversee the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment
• Oversee the maintenance and operation of warehouse management systems, storage and retrieval systems.
• Organise staff searching when necessary
• Load and unload trucks professionally

Education and Training

• Degree/Diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or equivalent

Knowledge and Experience
• Must have a minimum of 5 years warehouse management or supervisory experience
• A flexible approach to work as many warehouses operate shift patterns
• Knowledge of the legal requirements of operating a warehouse & bottling line

• Numeracy and an understanding of finance for stock management
• People management skills, including the ability to inspire, lead and motivate a team of people, delegate work and explain ideas

• Have initiative and be decisiveness
• Technical and IT skills, particularly when it comes to database management and spreadsheets
• Planning and organising skills to effectively manage the flow of stock
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to work on a tactical and strategic level
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Flexible approach to work as many warehouses operate shift patterns
• Knowledge of the legal requirements of operating a warehouse .
• Ability to supervise the movement of heavy boxes
• Computer literacy
• Communicates well via email, phone and in person
• Problem-solving skills
• Some long hours without break and able to handle high-pressure situations.
• Some physical requirements relative to stocking and order pulling at times
• Responsible work habits and positive can-do attitude
